Honoring Ryan

To our family and friends,

Thank you for the outpouring of love these last months. The emails, texts, phone calls, messages, and knocks on the door have been appreciated. 

We have come to realize that grief will always be a part of our lives. There is a hole, a large void in our family that can never be filled. Despite our grief and pain, we are at a point where we can look to our future as a family, and we want to honor our beloved son and brother. Ryan had several passions ~ do we somehow incorporate music into our honorarium? Do we incorporate sports? Politics? Do we focus on the opioid epidemic? 

Gracie, Mark, and I have come to the conclusion that the best way to honor Ry is to set up an Educational Foundation. Ryan loved to debate everything, especially current events, of which education and the school system was often a topic. He developed friendships with his teachers and professors, he loved to read and he always loved school. Despite his battles these last few years, getting his college degree was his priority. He would have graduated in May 2019, from Arizona State University, with a degree in Political Science and Economics with plans to acquire a post-bachelor’s degree. 

And so we have formed The Ryan Lipparelli Educational Foundation. A college attendee, chosen by the Board of Trustees, will receive tuition assistance in Ryan’s name. Of course he will always live in our hearts and our memories, and now he will also be memorialized in the lives of the students we can support in his name. 

The trust will be funded solely by donations made in memory of Ryan. If you would like to make a donation to the foundation, click the donate button below.

The trust is a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax-deductible. 

The nomination process will, at least initially, consist of a nomination letter and an interview by the Trustees, and then a unanimous vote. Please submit candidates to us at RyansTrust@yahoo.com.
