On October 10, 2020, 55 of us again walked the East Shore Trail at Lake Tahoe to honor and remember our friend, son, brother, and cousin Ryan. The weather was beautiful as we visited and took in the beauty of the lake ~ the sun came out just as we finished the hike (several commented that it was Ryan’s warm smile shining down on us) at Sand Harbor, then stripped down to our swimsuits and ran in! Well, some of us ran in! We laughed and cried, then dried off and drove to Carolyn and Greg’s beautiful home, where Paul Mathews led us in a toast to Ryan before we brunched, drank, and visited some more.
The food was delish ~ part potluck and part catered ~ and it really took the village to bring it all together. Gracie and her roommate designed the t-shirts that we all wore this year, and thank you to Jim and Carolyn for purchasing them! xoxo Kari’s mom, Ro, made and donated the beautiful fall-themed centerpieces, which were bid on/all the money went to the Ryan Trust.
Gracie summed it up on her Instagram post for the RemindersofRyan page ~ friends and family make what is unbearable, bearable.
We thank you for sharing the hardest day of our lives with us. mcrg
